We wish we had more control over the weather, especially clouds!
Payment for stargazing night tickets is non-refundable and events at The Space Place Observatory run regardless of the weather. However sometimes it can be cloudy or wet.
If this is the case we will strive to arrange the evening to give you the best chance of viewing through our telescopes. Generally there will be a time in the evening where viewing through our telescopes becomes possible, we only require a good 30-40 minute break to do so. In Western Australia we’re relatively lucky because our weather moves quite quickly. It is rare that we encounter a day or night of complete cloud cover.
Cloudy Night Vouchers
The cloudy/wet weather program still features access to our telescopes and our regular night sky presentations. Additionally, the night also includes an extended presentation by the Astronomer and an night sky show that is both entertaining and enthralling. If the weather prevents viewing through telescopes completely then we will offer you a 'Cloudy Night" voucher. These will be issued at the end of the event and ONLY if you have not had any chance of viewing through our telescopes.
The vouchers entitle you to make a subsequent visit half price.
Delaying your visit
Alternatively, if you’re concerned about the weather and would prefer to delay your visit, you’re very welcome to do so.
